It is good to know that I am not two weeks behind and I can just write about the latest week. And even with that I have gotten into a more normal routine. Today is such a pleasant day as I sit outside in the shade writing while I am waiting for church. The kids are just taking it easy also enjoying being outside without it being too hot for them. Mom is sitting in the sun and enjoying the warmth there. I don’t need that warmth as my body generates enough on its own.
The big event of the week at home has been Alrek’s birthday. Alrek is growing so much. He is saying the cutest things. Cimony gave him a little green plastic chair that he really likes, I asked him whose chair and he said "baby's chair." then he was carrying to around on his head and I asked him if it was baby’s chair and he said no, baby's hat." Everything that is Alreka is baby's this or baby's that. Alrek loves to be outside and exploring. He is a handful yet very fun.
Last night we had a party for him up in the canyon. It was so nice and cool and beautiful up there. KK came down from Provo and grandpa and grandma Greenhalgh came over from Fairview. We had sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad etc. We didn't think we could build a fire so we didn't plan on it yet when we got up there we found out that fires were allowed. We wanted to have a fire yet we had no matches, but I had flint and steel so we built a fire without matches and we found what wood we could around the area and it was not long before we had a nice warm fire going. We all had a good time. We got Alrek a little bike for his present and a Middle earth sword that makes a sound of clashing swords when you push a button. Alrek really liked it and wanted Cortons all the time so I thought it would be good if he had one. It is hard to believe that our little baby is two years old. He is growing right up.
I had a catering event on Friday. It was a little different than I am used to but that was fine. The phone rang on Monday and mom answered it and said that someone’s father died and they wanted a meal catered. I got on the phone and the man said hi this is Clint Price, someone I had gone to school with any years ago. His father grant Price had died and since he had lived with Clint the past eight years in Grantsville they didn't want to impose upon the relief society so I did the meal. Since it was Friday the only help I had was Corton and Alrek which amounts to about a minus 1 because I spend so much time chasing Alrek around so it makes it difficult. Even with the handicap it all went really well.
BYU lost their game yesterday against Nevada Reno, a game they were supposed to win by two touchdowns and they lost by three points. They always play terrible on artificial turf and they did it again yesterday. Well I must close for now but I ask you all to learn to love and love to learn.
